The institute was found 46 years ago,it has over taken nearly thousands of major domestic projects and abroad such as the subway, housing construction, highway, municipal road exploration ＆ surveying, geotechnical engineering design and construction, engineering testing. Key projects:

Beijing: Beijing Fuba Line;Batong Line; Line 13; Line 4; Line 10; Olympic branch Line(The total length of more than 200 Km ); many Representation venues such as the Olympic stadium and Asian Games cycling stadium; many national and municipal key projects such as the Capital International Airport; National Grand Theater; Beijing West Railway station; the Beijing Electron Positron Collider; Chairman Mao Memorial Hall ; the express ways of Jingjintang and Jingcheng etc. It also completed many exploration ＆surveying; geological engineering and testing tasks in urban districts such as Fangzhuang; Wangjing; Beiyuan etc.

Other provinces: Urban subway exploration & mapping、construction、 consulting in Guangzhou, Qindao, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin etc. Especially surveying in Guangzhou subway for 10 years.

Abroad: engineering exploration & surveying for the subways in North Korea and Iran, housing project in Angola.

As chief editor, the institute has complied two national standards :code for the Geotechnical Investigation of Subway and Light Rail Transit and code for Subway and Light Rail Transit Engineering survey. Besides ,it participated in editing more than ten other standards ,codes and handbooks such as code for Investigation & Design of building Foundation in Beijing Area etc. and technical and management standards nearly 100 for the institute.
